Confidence Returning to the Market
Approximately sixty six per cent of people said that they thought it was currently a good time to buy a property, but just over two percent said it was a good time to sell one according to property web site Rightmove.
These findings would suggest that people feel that it is a buyer’s market, within which those with funds in place to go ahead with a purchase can negotiate some good discounts. Nearly half of those responding to Rightmoves survey expect to move or buy a home in the next twelve months even though seventy per cent of those people expect house prices to drop even further during 2009.
Sixteen per cent of those surveyed said that they would be willing to borrow more than four times their salary to buy a home, forty nine per cent were more wary ad suggested that they were only prepared to borrow up to three times their salary.
